This is a great training topic, and something that often gets missed. Often, research & development engineers are working in their own silo – really effective at keeping to company procedures, but not having a clear view of the hard legislative requirements behind them.
Conversely, most training courses on regulatory topics are not suitable for design engineers & scientists, going too far the other way.
We are pleased to be developing bespoke courses in this area, such as “MDR for design engineers” and “IVDR for scientists”. Get in touch if you would like to know more.

Yes – you’ll find a variety of training for junior regulatory affairs staff. Some is online, some is in person. Often, you need to have a membership with the professional body or institution to be able to access it. Look for training delivered by knowledgeable facilitators who have practical experience in regulatory affairs.
At Brightbark Cranberry, we love training people that are new to regulatory affairs for medical devices. We’re passionate about career development, and get a great satisfaction from pitching the training sessions at the right level – taking time to adjust the pace and make sure everyone gets the most out of it.

Great question! RA training for continuous professional development is available from professional bodies, consultancies, and sometimes from regulatory bodies themselves.
However, one of the reasons we have formed the training wing of Brightbark Cranberry is a dissatisfaction with the training that’s out there. Too often the courses are short and superficial, offering little more than could be obtained from some self study, and not offering practical guidance and experiential insights.
With our courses, we aim to bring participants’ understanding to the next level, and be comfortable applying it at work.
